Where Do Your Eyes Go?

Feeling discouraged

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 7:30 AM
It's so frustrating to have finally found one story that captivates me so much that I just can't get it out of my head, then find that I don't know how to write it. I've been working on Manifest for, what, 4 years now? I've only ever gotten to chapter 3, and I'm rewriting all of it. I finished the prologue a while back. I'm pretty happy with it. Now the difficult part is starting chapter 1. ARGH! I HATE MY PERFECTIONISM!

I know I have to write this story. So many others have come and gone that have been intriguing but nothing more. A world where human society was overtaken by the faeries and demolished back into what was natural. A world where one girl, so overtaken by anger and pain, resorts to torturing her guardian angel, even though he has always been there for her and his pain is hers. (I was actually doing pretty well on that one, and then I angrily kicked my computer into my dresser and broke it...) A world where a mother takes her daughter into seclusion, and when the mother dies, the daughter has to learn how to live again. A world where a young girl is kidnapped by vampires and stored in a 'blood house', and the one who captures her ends up saving her. A world where humans are being injected with the blood of magical creatures. A world where a girl uses the color purple as a coping mechanism years after her rape. I love all of these ideas -- they all mean something to me and I want to WRITE them -- but I can't get Manifest out of my freaking brain.

My brother said maybe it's because the story, in some way, is so personal to me that in order to finish it, I have to finish what's going on in my life. I don't want to wait that long. Lmfao.

I tried locking what I had written away for a few months and returning to it. When I find old rambles and scribbles, I usually enjoy. When I started re-reading the old copies, though, I just... I don't know. I didn't like the way it was going.

Manifest in my pants. Heheheh. That made me feel a little better.

Hoggle: What'd you expect fairies to do?
Sarah: I thought they did nice things, like granting wishes!
Hoggle: Shows what you know, don't it?

And you said it looks like Anna.
And holy wow, I realized you were talking about my favorite show.

Are you a MEGA OBSESSED fan like I am?

Haha. I'm actually a relatively new fan. I think I started watching in July? The beginning of this season? But I LOVE it. I've gone back and watched all of the episodes. Sigh. I'm so torn between Sam and Castiel.

Did you see last Thursday's episode? LOL! IT WAS AMAZING! OMG! I think The Monster At The End of This Book tops Tall Tales as my favorite episode...

So, I guess in answer to your question, yes? xD

Oh gossshh. Well, at first I was in love with Sam.
And then Dean took over.
And then Castiel.
And then Sam.
And now it's back to Dean. Er...well...I'm not sure.

I'm so unfaithful!

Lol, and yes I saw the episode. It was amazing.
I love Chuck. And that little smirk Castiel did. He was all "Can't...help you or anything...but.." Haha, so adorable.

Most parents have to worry about finding porn underneath their child's bed, my brother only has to worry about is finding a mountain of comic books under my bed. >>;;; XDDD

No problem. I was just looking through your gallery and saw your picture of Angel, too. :( That was SO sad. I don't think I've read that issue because I've only been serious about my X-Men obsession recently, but that was just so horrible. :( And on top of that, I think I watched the episode from the 90's cartoon where Warren lost his wings, too. Ugh. That must be horrible.

I think you draw feathers just fine, by the way. :P
